The name
KaosuKitsuneko (カオス狐猫 in Japanese) is a composition of:
- 混沌 · カオス · Kaosu → The Chaos. In the primordial sense of the term. Before, during and after everything. Outgrowing the universe as we know it.
- 狐 · キツネ · Kitsune → The fox, as in the animal
- 猫 · ねこ · Neko → The cat, as in the animal too
Kaosu Kitsune Neko or properly attached KaosuKitsuneko is a pair of characters. A fox and a Cat.
They never met. They do not know one another. They are not alike at all. There is no certainty that they are even in the same universe.
But they are linked together in a mystical way. No distances, in any conceivable and inconceivable way, can alter this connection. This link is deeply attached to their souls. They know it; more accurately, they feel it even without consciously recognizing it.
The legend talks about an event that may further connect them both together, to become something else entirely while remaining their full selves. The legends also contain prophecies about them, but that's for another time.
